We need to change that. Sure, we have the Greens. But what is their strategy? Try to gain national attention by running candidates for president before a solid political party that can attain and REtain power on the lower levels has been established. This yields what I feel to be nothing in the way of real results. You don't build a house by fashioning the roof first. You build a foundation and work your way up. This shall be the purpose of the Progressive Party.
We will unite the progressive base; establish what our values are going to be and develop them; formulate and implement strategy for promoting our ideals to the public, and convincing them why our values are the true values favored by our Founders; run candidates first at local, then at state, and finally at national levels; and we shall stand up for traditional progressive values as formulated by such pioneers as Theodore and Franklin Delano Roosevelt--and continued by such contemporaries as Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich of Ohio.
This will not be easy, and it will take years of hard work and dedication. But I believe we can do this. And I believe that we can get results quicker than the Greens and perhaps take back our country from the neoconservative menace that is systematically destroying it.
